In light of the 2024 election results I have one thing to say: “Praise the Lord!” … but so that there is no misunderstanding, I will add a clarification. I am not pleased with who won or who lost the vote. I am praising the Lord because God is in control of the affairs of man. I am thankful because year 2025 is right around the corner and we will be one year closer to the return of Jesus Christ to this earth.
I am also thankful because the Lord dwells in heaven above and not in the ballot box on the street corner. I’m thankful that God is not a Republican or a Democrat. God’s name and His endorsement were often associated with the political platforms promoted this past year, but Jesus tells us, “My kingdom is not of this world”. That means God is big enough, wise enough, powerful enough to accomplish His purpose through whomever might be president of this country. I am confident that no matter who wins a presidential election God’s purposes will be accomplished.
God’s goal is not to, “Make America Great Again”. God’s desire is that we, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
