Thank you for all the encouraging words and prayers for Shirley’s improved health.   She is being transferred today to Valley West Rehab Center here in Eugene.  Since she will not have any weight-bearing ability on her leg for six weeks she will need PT to help her learn how to navigate on one leg.   She’s not sure how long she will be at VW … hopefully only a week.

Shirley was pleased to have Holly Burlew as one of the nurses taking care of her while she was at McKenzie W. hospital … and Melanie Rodman was a caregiver at the rehab center that Shirley has been at in Cottage Grove for the last couple of days.  Maybe there will be someone she knows at Valley West also?

I’ll be preaching in Junction City this Sabbath.   Mary Grace (pianist) will be sharing her testimony and concert at Eugene.

Other news for your weekend calendar ….

Just a reminder that this Sabbath is Home Friendship Sabbath. We will be having a delicious potluck next Sabbath.

If you are not sure what to bring to potluck or if you want to try something new … Here are a few recipes (and great pictures of the dishes) that might inspire you: https://cookieandkate.com/20-summer-potluck-recipes/

Hike and Vespers this Sabbath. Meet at the Cottage Grove Walmart parking lot at 2:45. We will visit one of the falls east of town. We usually meet on the left side of the parking lot, closest to the road. Following the hike, you are all invited to the Hernandez home for vespers and a potluck supper. You are welcome to come even if you aren't able to make it to the hike. Bring camp chairs and food to share. We are going to try setting up a firepit in our driveway so feel free to bring roasting sticks and things to be roasted. The vespers and supper will be begin at approximately 6:30, although the exact time is hard to predict. It depends how fast the hikers hike! :-)
